Klein ISD Celebrates School Board Recognition Month This January
Klein ISD will join 1,024 school districts throughout Texas to celebrate January as School Board Recognition Month, Superintendent Dr. Jenny McGown announced this week.
“School board members are incredible, elected volunteers who shoulder critical responsibilities for our district. Their goal is always focused on the success of our students,” Dr. McGown said. “Celebrating School Board Recognition Month is one way to express gratitude for their volunteerism and the countless hours they give to our school district and Klein ISD community.”
Serving as a link between the community and classroom, school board members are elected to establish the policies that provide the framework for public schools. The Klein ISD board is responsible for 53,000 students, 8,000 employees, and 49 campuses.
Board members serving Klein ISD are:
Chris Todd, President
Cathy Arellano, Vice President
Rob Ellis, Secretary
Ronnie Anderson, Trustee
Julie Benes, Trustee
Doug James, Trustee
Georgan Reitmeier, Trustee
“It’s more important than ever before that communities support public education so that today’s students are prepared to be productive citizens and the leaders of tomorrow,” Dr. McGown said. “Please take a moment this month and tell school board members ‘thank you for caring about our children and giving so much to our community.’ Let them know that their dedicated service is recognized and truly appreciated.”
