Fox Elementary Students and Teacher Honored at Board Meeting
At the February Board of Trustees meeting, the district honored two outstanding students and one staff member for their dedication and hard work they show daily throughout Fox.
Ms. Alison Rodriguez has been nominated for being a student-focused, intentional teacher when designing lessons where students are authentically engaged and challenged.
“Ms. Rodriguez knows how to get students excited about reading and helps them understand it’s okay to take risks and fail forward,” said Lakita Combs, Fox Elementary Principal. “We’re so excited and proud to celebrate her today and every day that we are privileged to have her as part of our Fox faculty.”
Student Matthew Lopez works his hardest even when working closely with his best friends. He is a natural leader and pathway explorer who embraces every challenge set before him.
“It has been such a privilege to get to know Matthew this year,” said Tai Bingham, 5th-grade math teacher. “He is a self-directed learner, and I often witness him doing great work and making other people feel comfortable when learning new things.”
Student Michelle Mahmoud Abousaid is curious and dedicated to her learning. She is always engaged and likes to help her friends. She is resilient and continues to reflect on her learning and set ambitious goals.
“Michelle is an excellent student and is always eager to learn. She exhibits curiosity and always collaborates with others,” said Gabriela O’bannion, 4th/5th-grade bilingual teacher.
