Outstanding Metzler Elementary Students and Teacher Honored at Board Meeting
At the March Board of Trustees meeting, the District recognized two outstanding students and one staff member for the dedication and hard work they display throughout the halls of Metzler Elementary.
Outstanding Metzler second grade teacher, Kristina Havemann relentlessly pursues success through high expectations in character and academics for all students. She fosters a classroom culture centered on risk-taking and self-reflection.
“The work she does with students has led her to be a part of the team that has earned Metzler the honor of being named a certified visible learning school,” said Danis Boone, Metzler Principal. “We are so grateful to have her wisdom, passion, and experience leading in our classroom.”
Student Noah Sotelo has been nominated this month for being a constant collaborator. He always listens and learns from others, while always being willing to help his fellow students through any challenges.
“Noah has a genuine hunger for learning, by being curious and asking relevant questions bravely and maturely,” said Kay Tauriac, 5th grade ELA teacher.
Student Dylan Havemann encompasses the characteristics of Klein’s Profile of a Learner both in and outside of the classroom. His selflessness shines through each day as he is always lending a helping hand to others.
“Dylan is persistent and embraces any challenge that is put in front of him,” said Kahla Reidy, 5th-grade teacher. “He is value-driven which is evident with his many volunteer efforts outside of school.”
Congratulations to these wonderful Klein Family members for going above and beyond in the classroom. Your Klein Community is proud of your achievements!
