Frank Elementary Educators Receive Superintendent Initiative Award
Five wonderful educators from Frank Elementary have been selected for the coveted Superintendent’s Initiative award. This team consisting of Ashley Huff, Kim Althoff, Grace Erkman, Eric Baldwin, and Susan Bancroft is being celebrated for their commitment to sharing student voice through Frank Elementary’s “We Believe” podcast.
“I’m so proud of Klein’s tradition of excellence and innovation in education, and our awesome team of Frank educators who have celebrated student voice through podcasting is a perfect example of this tradition,” said Dr. Jenny McGown, Klein ISD Superintendent. “Thank you to Ashley, Grace, Kim, Eric, and Susan for positively impacting students by encouraging them to share their writing with an authentic audience through this student-led podcast. This initiative has built strong relationships with students, encouraged curiosity, and embraced innovation in the face of challenges, and we are grateful for such an outstanding platform for student voice in Klein ISD!
The “We Believe” podcast started last year as a way for students to share their own stories while navigating school and the pandemic. Frank Elementary students wrote about their personal experiences and were invited to read their stories on the podcast. It didn’t take long for the community and families to become fast fans.
“I’m so proud of this group of innovative and forward-thinking teachers for stepping outside of the box and coming up with the idea for this podcast that allows our students to have a voice,” said Tyra Storie, Frank Elementary Principal.
Congratulations to this wonderful team of Frank Elementary educators for receiving this award. The impact your dedicated service is having on our students is evident beyond the classroom walls.
