Klein Collins Senior Chosen for Terry Foundation Scholarship
Klein Collins senior, Benjamin Williams, was recently chosen as a recipient of the Terry Foundation Scholarship by Texas A&M University!
“We are so proud of Benjamin,” said Randy Kirk, Klein Collins Principal. “He is so versatile, participating in FFA and taking AP courses among other things, so it comes as no surprise that he received such a prestigious scholarship. He truly embodies ‘Excellence without Compromise.’ I’m excited to see all the great things he will accomplish after his time here at Klein Collins.”
Created in 1986, the Terry Foundation invests in youth who are well-rounded citizens in Texas and need financial assistance to achieve their goals in higher education.
“Everybody that has been a recipient of the Terry Foundation Scholarship has gone on to do amazing things,” said Heather Davis, Agriculture Science Teacher. “We know that Benjamin is destined for greatness and we’ve seen that here.”
This is a huge achievement for Benjamin as the scholarship will pay for tuition, books, fees, and living expenses for eight semesters of undergraduate college. Benjamin has also been very active with Boy Scouts, he is academically inclined in his classes, and he has been involved in the FFA program for all four years of his high school career.
“I always tried to challenge myself and Klein ISD has been a huge outlet for me, academically,” said Benjamin, Klein Collins senior. “I’ve been able to take dual credit courses and AP classes, and because of Klein ISD, I’ve been able to have a great foundation for my future.”
Klein ISD is proud of Benjamin’s achievements as he prepares to attend Texas A&M University in the fall.
