Klein ISD Named Best Community for Music Education for 10th Straight Year

For the 10th consecutive year, Klein ISD has been named a 2021 Best Communities for Music Education by the NAMM Foundation. 

The award program recognizes outstanding efforts by teachers, students, administrators, parents, and community leaders who have made music education part of a well-rounded educational experience.

“I’m so proud that our Klein Family has once again been honored with this national recognition,” said Dr. Jenny McGown, Klein ISD Superintendent. “Klein ISD has long been a leader in art and music education due to the passion of our students and educators and the overwhelming support of the arts in our community. Fine Arts consistently demonstrates to our students what it means to pursue excellence in all they do and ultimately helps Klein ISD produce outstanding, well-rounded citizens.” 

To qualify for this designation, districts must complete a 50-page application that examines various data about music education within the district, including programs, funding, and enrollment. 

“To be able to be a Best Community for Music Education 10 years in a row is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our teachers and students and their love for their craft,” said Joel Wren, Klein ISD Director of Fine Arts. “To sustain this year after year is something to be very proud of and I truly feel that this award belongs to the teachers and students.”
