Klein High Air Force JROTC Selected as First Space Force JROTC in Texas

Klein High School’s Air Force JROTC has been selected by the United States Air Force to convert its existing AFJROTC unit to the inaugural Texas-based Space Force JROTC unit beginning Fall 2021. Klein High AFJROTC will be making school, district, and state history by making this change.
Klein High’s AFJROTC is one of 10 schools across the nation, and the only unit from the state of Texas chosen to spearhead this conversion to the new branch of the armed services.
“It is definitely an honor to be chosen to be one of 10 inaugural Space Force JROTC units,” said Lt. Colonel Timothy Lambert, Senior Aerospace Science Instructor. “This shows that our cadets have represented the Air Force in such an outstanding manner that they entrust them to represent the new Space Force in the same way.”
According to the United States Air Force JROTC, units chosen for the Space Force JROTC conversion needed to be in good standing, close to space facilities, and be top performers.
“We see this as an opportunity to get our students more exposure, and also to enhance or establish more formal relationships with space-related agencies, such as the Johnson Space Center,” said Lt. Col. Lambert.
A ceremonial ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held in the fall.
Congratulations to the Klein High School Air Force JROTC cadets and instructors on this exciting achievement. We look forward to seeing your continued excellence in serving and leading the Klein High School Community.
