You’re invited… Klein ISD Girls In STEM Virtual Conference
Mark your calendars for May 15 from 9 am to 2:30 pm for Klein ISD’s Girls in STEM Conference. Our FREE event will be virtual this year, but we still have a jam-packed schedule full of live speakers, professional and college panels, and several STEM-centric field trips.
Girls in STEM is geared towards all girls who have an interest in Engineering, Mathematics, Science, and Technology in grades 3-12. Those who are on the fence about entering into STEM, but are curious about the field are welcome to attend the conference as well.
Special highlights of the day include a Keynote Speaker session with Acadia Kocher, Biologist, Ph.D. in Genetics, speaker Dr. Laura Lucier, Chief of Robotic Operations at NASA, and a career panel featuring some of the brightest minds in STEM.
“One of my passions is educating students, especially girls and underrepresented populations, in STEM careers,” said Michele Thompson, K-12 Science Instructional Officer and Girls in STEM Founder. “One of the goals of Girls in STEM is to provide our students with female STEM role models who talk about their careers and education. I am so excited that we can still offer the event virtually because it is allowing us to include amazing women in STEM careers who live and work outside the Houston area.”
Registration is still open for this dynamic event and can be found here. Get ready for a dive into STEM from the comfort of your own home!
