Klein Collins Senior Chelsea Stein Wins State Title, Sets Record

Student-athlete Chelsea Stein, who is already well-known and profiled for her work ethic as well as her many records, is adding another accolade to her long list of successes.

At the State track meet this weekend Chelsea won first in the 100-meter wheelchair dash, finished second in the 400-meter wheelchair dash, and placed fifth in the seated shot put.

“I finished my season off with a great end,” said Chelsea, right after winning the State title. “As my last year, my senior year, it feels great to leave with this record.”

Chelsea, who is known statewide for her prowess in the wheelchair dash races, also competed in the seated shot put competition this year.

Under the direction of shot put Coach Robbie Bradshaw, Chelsea was able to improve her throwing distance more than three feet this season earning her a fifth place finish.

“THANK YOU for coaching me!,” Chelsea said in a Twitter post to Coach Bradshaw. “I couldn’t have asked for a better coach than you! Best throwing season EVER. Thank you again. It was a blessing to be your athlete.”

With the entire Klein community backing her, there’s no doubt that this Tiger will continue crushing every challenge that comes her way.
