Kayla Saunders, Klein Collins High Top 10 – Senior Spotlight
Kayla Saunders shines as a Top 10 Klein Collins Senior! Accomplished in both academics and extracurricular activities, this senior is on her way to bigger heights!
Kayla is active and outstanding not just in her academics but in her extracurricular activities too. She served in Marching Band, Full Orchestra, Pit Orchestra, Environmental Club, and Photography Club. She was also an active member of National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, and Science National Honor Society.
Kayla shines as a TMEA All-Region Band Member, 3-time Outstanding Performance Award winner, 2-time TSSEC Performer, SASI Teaching Award winner, Scholastic Art Silver Key Winner, and more!
In her extracurricular activities Kayla serves as the Band Council Drum Major, Band Student Leadership Member, and Environmental Club President.
Kayla is active in service to her school and community. She volunteers at Klein Collins through the National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, SkillsUSA, and Klein ISD Elementary schools- Lemm and Benfer Elementary, the Houston Food Bank, and The Church at Creeks End.
“During my time at Klein ISD, I have grown from a fresh-faced Kindergartner to a mature adult ready to tackle whatever is beyond high school. I have met some of the most amazing people, including phenomenal teachers and amazing friends,” said Kayla Saunders. “I have also experienced a plethora of opportunities rooted in band, orchestra, clubs, etc., which allowed me to transform into the woman that I am today. Though it is bittersweet to depart from the place I grew up in after all this time, I cannot wait for the journey ahead thanks to the knowledge and preparation passed down to me by those within the Klein community.”
After graduating, Kayla plans on either attending The University of North Texas or Ithaca College. She plans to major in Music Education.
