Jacob Newman, Klein Cain High Top 10 – Senior Spotlight

Jacob Newman, Klein Cain High Top 10 – Senior Spotlight

Jacob Newman is a Klein Cain Hurricane who beautifully demonstrates excellence in both academics and leadership. One of Klein Cain’s Top 10 Seniors, he is ready to take on whatever challenge life has for him in the future.

Jacob was involved in several Klein Cain organizations during his four years in high school. He enjoyed being a part of National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Spanish National Honor Society, Band- Marching Band and Wind Ensemble, HOSA, and Paws for Purpose.

Within these organizations, he served as the Marching Band Baritone and Tuba Section Leader, Houston Food Bank Student Hero Ambassador, Science National Honor Society Secretary, and Paws for Purpose Fundraising Coordinator.

Jacob also achieved notoriety through his awards and recognitions. He was a National Advancement Placement Scholar and a Dual Credit Scholar.

His community service includes time spent at Star Cinema Grill for the Food and Drink Expo, Houston Food Bank as a Student Hero Volunteer, a National Honor Society Volunteer, and volunteering for Flags of Pride Distribution and Collection.

“I came to Klein ISD in 3rd grade. I had spent most of my life at that point in a small Oklahoma town, where there were about as many people as there are cars on I-45 in the Woodlands at 4:00 in the evening (don’t move cities in rush hour traffic). So you can imagine the terror a 3rd grader felt towards leaving the comfort of his home and moving to a city like Houston. But Klein took this 3rd grader under its wing and revealed a network of friends and teachers that really cared about each other,” said Jacob. “I am truly grateful to Klein for the countless opportunities that I’ve received for the past nine years. This year I have officially been in Klein for the majority of my life, and I wouldn’t trade the stress, frustration, and especially the joy during these nine years for anything.”

After leaving Klein Cain, Jacob will be attending the University of Oklahoma to receive a four-year degree in Biochemistry. He later plans to attend Medical School.

Jacob, your Klein Family is so proud of all you have accomplished and cannot wait to see what awaits you after your time here in Klein ISD!
