Vistas High School Program, Klein Success Academy Hold Clap Out Ceremonies

With families and friends in attendance, 76 students were celebrated for completing their Klein ISD educational journey and graduating with a high school diploma.

Clap Out is a special Vistas High School Program and Klein Success Academy ceremony held to signify the closure of a student’s academic journey in the program.

The room was filled with pride and excitement as students celebrated their success at the combined Vistas High School Program and Klein Success Academy Clap Out ceremony.

“It brings me great joy to be part of this ceremony to celebrate the graduating seniors from Vistas and Klein Success Academy,” said Dr. Jenny McGown, Klein ISD Superintendent. “They have worked so hard to get to this moment, and it makes me so proud to see them exit with their purpose and go on to the next chapter of their life and achieve great things, not only for our community but for our world.”

Both the Vistas High School Program and Klein Success Academy provide students an opportunity to complete high school with extensive support and guidance from their educators and administration.

In his address to his fellow graduates, Kensean Hubbard gave words of congratulations and encouragement.

“We have been through a lot this year,” said Hubbard. “Some of us have lost our family, our friends, and even our homes during the freeze. But one thing we didn’t lose is hope. We pushed ourselves past the limit we never thought we’d pass. Don’t give up on the things you want in life, do it for yourselves and your loved ones.”

Educators in both of these programs are dedicated to building relationships with each of these students so that school becomes a safe place for them to learn and grow.

“We look to you as young adults now to help guide us to a better future,” said Debbie Pennington, Principal of Vistas, to the graduates. “Be kind to others and make a difference in this world. This is not the end of your goal-setting; this is just the beginning. We are so proud of you.”

Also, at the ceremony, Lone Star College-University Park handed out two Lone Star College Board of Trustee Scholarships to Maya Chalico and Logan Jahnke.

Grit and perseverance were the day’s themes for these high school graduates, and they look forward to making their way in the world with the assurance that they have been thoroughly prepared to achieve their purpose.
