Klein Oak Junior Named National Hamilton Scholar

Klein Oak Junior Reem Numan was one of 30 students nationwide to be selected for the Alexander Hamilton Scholars Program.
Inspired by U.S. Founding Father Alexander Hamilton’s legacy of leadership through service, this scholarship program empowers high-achieving, underserved young leaders to succeed in college and life.

According to Hamiltonscholars.org, “the program’s vision is to build leaders of character who will improve our nation and our world through their service, innovation, and excellence.”
Through the program, Reem will receive mentorship, guidance, and an extensive support network so she can garner success through her studies and in life.
“The knowledge, financial assistance, networking, and emotional support Hamilton Scholars provides is downright incredible, and is something I could’ve never accessed due to personal circumstances,” said Reem. “I also have more confidence that my college years will be filled with discovery, adventure, personal growth, and cherishable memories given AHS’ consistent support throughout college as well.”
Reem will receive a $500 scholarship to use toward her college expenses. She will also have access to many Alexander Hamilton Scholars’ internship opportunities and will join a distinguished cohort of peers from across the US.
“Selection to the Hamilton Scholars program is extremely rare; only thirty students are selected nationwide each year. We are so incredibly proud of Reem Numan to receive this incredible honor,” said Beth Gilleland, Klein ISD Executive Director of College and Career Pathways. “The legacy of this program is leadership through service and a show of strong character skills, both things which exemplify qualities within the Klein ISD Profile of a Learner.”
Congratulations to Reem on this incredible honor! You are a perfect example of excellence and perseverance in Klein ISD. We know you will go far in your many educational endeavors.
