Klein ISD Class of 2021 Makes History With $45 Million In Scholarships
The Class of 2021 truly set the bar high in Klein ISD after being awarded $45,056,684.90 total in scholarships, the most scholarship money awarded in Klein ISD history.
“I am incredibly excited to see the hard work of our students, teachers, administrators, and our college advisors culminate in such a large number of scholarships,” said Elizabeth Gilleland, Klein ISD Executive Director of College and Career Pathways. “It is inspiring to know that these awards will yield benefits for all these recipients for years to come.”
With a multitude of financial aid resources available, including the support of Klein ISD staff, our talented, innovative, and deserving students were able to take full advantage of the scholarship application process.
“From scholarship searches and financial aid application assistance to college and career planning, Klein ISD College and Career advisors play a crucial role in transitioning students to a successful post-secondary future,” said Kayla Shaw, Instructional Officer for Counseling & Whole Student Wellness. “Their advocacy, passion, and dedication truly launched great scholarship rewards in a year where many families needed it the most.”
The Counseling team and College and Career advisors at each campus host student and parent events (with topics such as college planning and testing, scholarships/financial aid, and career exploration) both on-campus and districtwide. They also conduct individual and group student sessions, coordinate college and military visits on campus, and regularly communicate scholarship opportunities at their campuses.
