2015 Bond Completion Report – Kaiser Elementary

2015 Bond Completion Report – Kaiser Elementary

On May 9, 2015, the Klein ISD community overwhelmingly voted FOR the 2015 Bond, authorizing the sale of $498.1 million in school bonds to construct new schools, upgrade school safety and security features, purchase property, acquire new buses, renovate existing campuses, and purchase 21st-century technology for student learning.

Since the successful passage of the 2015 Bond, Klein ISD has remained a fast-growth school district, with the student population growing by nearly 10 percent. As a result, Klein ISD is now the 16th largest public school district out of 1,029 in Texas and has continued to add new students while remaining a high-performing, sought-after destination for families moving to the greater Houston area.

The 2015 Bond was an investment in our community, our students, our educators, and our facilities. Since 2004, our community has approved nearly $1.4 billion in school bonds, allowing us to stay focused on providing outstanding opportunities for every student. Sixteen new schools were constructed to account for Klein’s fast growth, and every campus has received capital improvements, safety and security upgrades, and technology enhancements.

Kaiser Elementary, constructed in 1978, benefitted from the recently-completed 2015 Bond program with the following projects:

  • Repaint interior of portable building
  • Replace exterior lighting
  • Replacement of major building electrical systems
  • Installation of new technology infrastructure equipment
  • Purchase of computer & technology equipment
  • Installation of new security equipment
  • Technology and curriculum for library services
  • Front entry security improvements
  • Installation of new hallway security doors
  • Installation of new classroom microphone systems
  • Replace major components of the HVAC and heating system
  • Remove moveable partitions and replace with walls
  • Replacement of building water heaters
  • Replace plumbing fixtures
  • Install fire detection & alarm system in the gymnasium
  • Resurface and/or install walking track

“The overwhelming support of the 2015 Bond is just another example of the faithful support we enjoy from our wonderful Klein ISD community,” said Dr. Jenny McGown, Klein ISD Superintendent. “We are so grateful for this continued investment in our tradition of excellence that keeps Klein a place we are all proud to call our home.”

In addition to major 2015 Bond projects including the construction of Klein Cain High School, Hofius Intermediate, and Fox Elementary, a significant portion of the 2015 Bond was allocated to safety and security upgrades for all elementary and intermediate campuses.

“Thanks to the overwhelming community support of the 2015 Bond, and by extension, support of the work we do to properly care for and maintain 9.3 million square feet of learning and support space, we have been able to continue to build and maintain best-in-class, safe learning environments for our students and our community,” said Robert Robertson, Associate Superintendent of Facilities and School Services.

Thank you, Klein Community, for investing in the future of our students and our continued high-quality learning experiences for EVERY student in Klein ISD. Your dedication to this effort is greatly appreciated.
