Teacher Feature: Amy Tinder, Doerre Intermediate

Doerre Intermediate 8th grade Social Studies Teacher Amy Tinder loves all aspects of teaching, but one of her favorite parts of being an educator is having the chance to build her community.

“I wanted to be a teacher because I wanted to make a difference for the children in my community,” said Tinder. “I care about our students and the future that they will create. Teaching them ways to fulfill their PURPOSE fulfills MY purpose!”

Initially, Ms. Tinder joined our Klein Family as a principal secretary at Krimmel Intermediate before committing to finish college and become an educator.

“I have the BEST job for so many reasons, and I love to see a student’s celebration when they succeed,” said Tinder. “I also love feeling connected to the community and seeing students I know at the grocery store, at a football game, or working at their job!”

Without a doubt, Ms. Tinder knows how to make her students feel valued and cared for.

“I want them to be aware that they have a space in the world that no one else can fill and that they matter very much to me,” said Tinder.

Ms. Tinder’s positive attitude, enthusiasm leading her classroom, and motivation make her a valuable member of the #kleinfamily.
