Northampton Elementary Turns 50, Opens Time Capsule

Northampton Elementary celebrated being “over the hill” in style at their 50th birthday celebration!
From 1950s themed arts and crafts to student musicians playing 1950s tunes, all who came had a nifty time as student volunteers from Klein Oak and parent volunteers within the school community greeted them.
The night’s highlight was opening a time capsule put together by students at Northampton 25 years ago. Inside there were baseball cards, a lunch menu from 1996, Northampton school supplies, and a floppy disk!

“Tonight was a great night for our huge Northampton family,” Northampton Principal Lisa Campbell said. “This school is a very special place filled with families who have returned to raise their children in the same neighborhood they were raised in. We are so thankful to our many students, families, and community supporters who came out to help us celebrate Northampton.”
Over 300 members of the Northampton Family came to celebrate Northampton’s long tradition of excellence in academics and innovation. Colts, young and old, filled the newly-renovated library and cafeteria to dance, eat, and reminisce!
“It was wonderful to see the community come together tonight to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Northampton Elementary,” Klein ISD Superintendent Dr. Jenny McGown said. “We are grateful for this extraordinary community school that continues to be a place full of wonderful students, families, and educators.”
Thank you to Northampton leadership and PTO for hosting a fantastic birthday bash, including a 1950s vehicle parked in front of the school to help inspire the festivities. It was a wonderful celebration commemorating many years of success at Northampton Elementary.
