We are the kind of people who are proud of who we are, where we come from, and we are a community that draws strength from our traditions.
We are the kind of people who faithfully honor the best of the past, who consistently rally for the greater good in the present, and who always unite to create an even more beautiful and hopeful future.
I’ll never forget arriving here. I was a newlywed, joining my husband, a third-generation Texan in the place his family called home. I was amazed by the beautiful pine trees, the friendly people, and most importantly, the work family I discovered as a first-year teacher here in Klein ISD.
Today, we are raising our children here. Time is passing too quickly with them under our roof. It seems that just yesterday, they were toddling around our home. At this rate, we’ll blink, and tomorrow they’ll be making their own home with their own families—I hope right here in Klein.
I just celebrated a milestone birthday. As you can see, it has drummed up a bit of nostalgia, and I am remembering all of the best moments of my Klein Family story. My memories aren’t centered on achievements, awards, or accolades. Instead, they are 100% about our people. The moments when I have seen firsthand our entire community rally together to care for one another, to believe that every student has tremendous promise, to keep the promise of an excellent education, to commit to our students exiting our care with a mighty purpose for their life.
Klein has long been my home, my family’s home, and the bright spots and challenges ahead for us are no mystery to me. Proud of our tradition of excellence, I am confident that Klein ISD is poised to achieve even more remarkable results for our students as we continue working together to celebrate every victory, to overcome every obstacle, and to ensure excellent outcomes and an audacious purpose for every student in our collective care.
Our Klein Family is ultimately a brilliant collection of memories—stories told and created over many, many years—a collective story that will continue being beautifully written as we work together for the greater good. May we keep pressing on to the possible for our Klein kids, always treasuring, protecting, and defending this beautiful place we are proud to call home.
