Exploratory Committee Launched to Discuss Klein ISD’s Future Needs

Nearly 100 members from the Klein community met to discuss and plan for future district needs and improvements as the district nears the completion of projects funded from the 2015 Bond.

The group includes parents, community members, employees, retired educators, and business partners.

During the meeting, participants began discussions about the future needs of Klein ISD. They explored the possibility of a future bond referendum as the district works to address aging and crowded schools.

“I’m grateful for the way our community has faithfully supported our schools over the years,” said Dr. Jenny McGown, Klein ISD Superintendent. “As we look to the future, I am thankful for the many dedicated people who are volunteering their time and talent for the benefit of our kids and community in Klein ISD.”

Dr. Eddie Coulson led the inaugural meeting. Coulson is a former Texas school superintendent and experienced facilitator of the long-range planning process.

“I’m excited to talk to so many people who care about this wonderful district and the needs of our community,” said Julie Stevens, Klein High School alumnus and proud parent raising her children in Klein ISD. “We’re looking forward to supporting the greatness of Klein ISD in the future for our students to fulfill their purpose.”

In 2015, 76% of Klein ISD taxpayers approved the 2015 Bond, which is successfully wrapping up with the completion of new campuses, facility renovations, technology additions, and safety and security updates.
