James Blaise Named Distinguished Alumni of the Month

The Klein ISD Board of Trustees honored Mr. James Blaise as the Distinguished Klein ISD Alumnus for November. Mr. Blaise was nominated by Trustee Mr. Doug James.

“One of the things I remembered most about Klein Forest are the different teachers that were involved in shaping my future,” said Blaise. “One of my mentors and someone I still credit for my success to this day is Lynne Dozier, my AP English teacher my Junior year. Ms. Dozier took the time to sit down with me and help with my classwork- something other teachers were hesitant to do as a result of my blindness.”

Mr. Blaise first attended Klein ISD after moving to Houston with his family from Mexico City during his 3rd-grade year. He attended Greenwood Forest Elementary, where he participated in choir and GermanFest.

After moving on to Wunderlich Intermediate, Mr. Blaise enrolled in GT and Honors classes. His fascination with government started with his participation in the Student Council.

During his time at Klein Forest High School, Mr. Blaise was a marching band member, took AP and Honors classes, and participated in wrestling, debate, cross-country, and National Honor Society. During his Junior year, he attended the School of Public Service internship in Washington DC- a favorite endeavor that instilled his love of public service today.

After graduating from Klein Forest High School, Mr. Blaise attended the University of Texas at Austin, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Government. He then started his own small business, worked on political campaigns, advocated for those with disabilities, and served as a political consultant.

Mr. Blaise currently serves as a Staff Attorney for Trinity Legal Clinic of Oklahoma, a faith-based legal nonprofit, representing low-income clients who cannot otherwise afford representation.

Mr. Blaise considers himself blessed to have been taught by amazing Klein ISD educators and appreciates the support he received from several administrators.

“I want to personally thank Superintendent McGown, Board President Chris Todd, the rest of the trustees, and especially Trustee Doug James for nominating me,” said Blaise. “I’m humbled to have been recognized as a distinguished alum of Klein ISD.”

We are beyond grateful to Mr. Blaise for being a treasured alumnus of Klein Forest High School and a valued Klein Family member. Please join us in congratulating James Blaise as the November Alumni of the Month!
