3 Klein ISD Athletes Named Touchdown Club Finalists

Three Klein ISD athletes have been nominated for the 42nd annual Touchdown Club of Houston UIL High School Awards celebration that took place on December 8, 2021.

Klein Forest’s Kendrick Bradley, Klein Cain’s Matthew Golden, and Klein Cain’s Lukia Rawls showed us what their grit and determination could achieve: game wins and undeniable stats.

Kendrick Bradley was the district’s leading rusher with a record 1,652 yards. Bradley, who finished in our state’s top 5 in rushing yards, helped the Klein Forest Golden Eagles get their first district win in 10 years! The Eagle Offensive MVP completed his high school career with nearly 3,000 yards and 38 touchdowns.

Klein Cain football had a stellar season, reaching the playoffs once again as the young program’s growth and exceptional athletes continue to stun the community each year.

Lukia Rawls is a 2021 15-6A Defensive Player of the Year with an impressive 17 sacks. Rawls was a vital key to the Hurricane’s defense, with over 60 tackles that helped Klein Cain reach the playoffs. The Air Force football commit had a power stat and made the 2021 All-District First Team.

Matthew Golden, a promising dual-threat recruit with over 20 school offers, had a break-out season with over 1,400 yards and 12 touchdowns this season! Golden was a 2021 football team captain and an ESPN top 300 recruit in the nation, making him a must-watch prospect. The 4-Star wide receiver was named the 15-6A Offensive Player of the Year and made All-District First team. Golden finishes his high school career with nearly 4,000 yards and 37 total touchdowns.

Klein ISD congratulates these fine, young men as they proudly represent the school district both academically and athletically on and off the field as true leaders! We wish them all the best with their accomplishments and future aspirations continuing their success as student athletes.
