Klein ISD Education Foundation Awards $69,469 in Educator Grants

Foundation directors, community members, and Klein ISD Superintendent Dr. Jenny McGown made surprise visits today aboard the Klein ISD Education Foundation Celebration Express, delivering $69,469 in innovative classroom grants.

School staff across the district were over the moon as dozens of foundation supporters poured out of a festive school bus to deliver oversized checks to overjoyed grant recipients.

“Rewarding innovative educators with generously donated funds to make their incredible ideas a reality is a great way to spend the day,” Klein ISD Superintendent Dr. Jenny McGown said. “Thank you to the Klein ISD Education Foundation and all of our generous grant sponsors for making today possible. Dreams are coming true today in Klein ISD.”

This fall, the Celebration Express delivered grants for innovative programs that will bring education to life for our learners in various ways. These grants were made possible by the support of numerous loyal community partners. 

“My heart is full of gratitude for the Klein ISD Education Foundation Board of Directors, our sponsors, and the educators across Klein ISD who go above and beyond to enhance the learning experience for our students,” said Christy Spisak, Klein Education Foundation Director. “The Celebration Express Day is always the best day of the year, and today was no exception!”

Benignus and Mahaffey Elementary Awarded $13,000 PAWS Grant

Klein ISD’s Reading Express Awarded $4,250 Grant

Eiland Elementary, Ehrhardt Elementary, Mueller Elementary, and Northampton Elementary Awarded $12,219 for Trails of Tales Grant

Klein Oak High School Awarded $15,000 ‘Lead the Spark’ Science Grant

Kuehnle Elementary School Awarded $10,000 ‘Lead the Spark’ Koala Calming Cave Grant

Klein Intermediate Awarded $15,000 for ‘Lead the Spark’ Presentation Stations at KI Grant
