Bond Steering Committee Works to Finalize Recommendations

Members of the Bond Steering Committee met for the fourth time to continue discussing the district’s current and future needs. Dr. Eddie Coulson, a long-range planning expert, facilitated the committee’s discussion as they prioritized district needs.
“I’m so grateful for the dedicated committee members who are working so diligently to analyze the current and future needs of our district,” Klein ISD superintendent Dr. Jenny McGown said. “Their commitment to ensuring that our students continue to have excellent learning opportunities is just one of the reasons that Klein ISD is such a remarkable place to call home.”
Participants worked together to discuss solutions for aging and crowded facilities in Klein ISD as part of a possible future bond referendum.
“We’ve gone through understanding what makes up a Bond, the financing, and looking deeper into the 2015 Bond,” Klein parent and Steering Committee Member Stephen White said. “All of this helped us weigh our interest as community members on what could be a good option for our learners, teachers, and district.”
The committee will meet one more time before the end of the year and prepare to report their findings in 2022.
In 2015, 76% of Klein ISD taxpayers approved the 2015 Bond, which is successfully wrapping up with the completion of new campuses, facility renovations, technology additions, and safety and security updates.
