Klein ISD Holds Dedication Ceremony for Newly Named Admin Building

Signage for the newly named Frank A. Lemmon Administration Building was revealed to a large crowd of supporters at an official dedication ceremony in honor of beloved retired Klein ISD administrator, Mr. Frank A. Lemmon.

The Klein ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously to approve the Klein ISD Central Office building’s renaming at their January 2021 meeting.

“It is an honor to be here today and celebrate one of our most beloved Klein ISD educators of all time through this building dedication and renaming ceremony,” said Dr. Jenny McGown, Klein ISD Superintendent. “Mr. Frank Lemmon is a leader beyond compare, and we are so thankful to the Board for making this well-deserved recognition possible.”

To honor Mr. Lemmon’s legacy and this momentous occasion, friends and family, the Klein ISD Board of Trustees, and district administration attended the dedication ceremony. The ceremony included a ceremonial ribbon cutting and nameplate unveiling.

Mr. Lemmon’s legacy dates back to 1972 when he started his career in Klein ISD by first serving as an Assistant Principal at Klein High School and later as the opening principal of Hildebrandt Intermediate in 1973.

After several years serving at Hildebrant, Mr. Lemmon served as Principal at Klein High School. From Klein High, Mr. Lemmon moved into the role of Director of School Administration and then Assistant Superintendent of School Administration. He retired in 2000 with great respect amongst his colleagues.

Mr. Lemmon is known for his professionalism, gentleman-like demeanor, and above all, his commitment to the development of district administrators. After his retirement, Mr. Lemmon served the district as a substitute administrator filling in whenever and wherever necessary.

“It’s a great honor for my father’s name to be on the administration building,” said Mr. Lemmon’s son, Steve Lemmon. “My dad worked a lot of different jobs in the district, and he thoroughly enjoyed every one. Dad was always blessed to work with wonderful people, and he loved every single job he worked here.”

Klein ISD is proud to honor Mr. Lemmon’s legacy in this way. Congratulations to Mr. Lemmon and his family for this incredible achievement!
