Wunderlich Students Meet with Houston Texans Advertising Team

Students from Wunderlich Intemediate’s Principles of Business, Marketing, & Finance class recently experienced the opportunity of a lifetime. These dedicated eighth-graders were able to meet with the Houston Texans Advertising & Marketing team to present their fantasy football entrepreneurship projects and enjoy a game.
Although the students had some nerves and excitement before presenting to the panel, they were indeed appreciative of the instant feedback they received in turn.
“It was amazing to see our students enjoy themselves and experience the success they did after presenting,” Ms. Robinson said. “It is always rewarding to see your vision come to fruition, but when it positively impacts your students.”
The fantasy football entrepreneurial project is an activity in which students become owners of NFL teams. Students had to create NFL teams that were not in the same cities as existing NFL teams, research those cities, their populations, and build concept stadiums in those cities. They then had to create names and mascots for their teams, design uniforms, choose team colors, create a marketing and advertising plan to sell merchandise and advertise the team, and ultimately keep a budget of how much they spent on players, coaches, and marketing.
After the events of a long and successful day, these students were able to sum up their feelings towards the experience in one word: gratitude.
“I want to say ‘thank you’ to Ms. Robinson because I was a little nervous about taking this class, but she has helped me through it and gave me a strong foundation in business before I’ll even go to high school,” Wunderlich student Rhyan Walker said. “I enjoy all the class projects and just knowing there is someone out there that cares about me and my future.”
Congratulations to these Wildcats for the innovation and care they displayed when representing our district on the world’s stage! Your #KleinFamily is so proud of all you have accomplished!
