Trustees Review Bond Steering Committee Report

As part of the ongoing, long-range planning process to maintain and modernize district facilities, the Klein ISD Board of Trustees met for a special public meeting on Monday, January 24, 2022, at the Frank A. Lemmon Administration building. Trustees used the Klein ISD Bond Steering Committee’s report and recommendations as a blueprint for their discussion regarding the district’s current and future needs.
“The Bond Steering Committee members volunteered their time to evaluate what they believe our district needs to continue our tradition of excellence for students,” said Ronnie Anderson, Klein ISD School Board President. “I truly appreciate their invaluable investment into this critical planning process and their thoughtful recommendations to keep our district a thriving place today and in the future.”
The goal of the Bond Steering Committee was direct—ensure every student and every teacher in every school has the tools and facilities they need to continue our long-standing tradition of excellence in academics, athletics, and fine arts.
The Bond Steering Committee, made up of nearly 100 parents, community members, teachers, employees, Klein ISD alumni, retired educators, and business partners, provided a report to the Board of Trustees outlining their recommendations to address aging facilities, safety and security, technology needs, and secondary level capacity challenges. Also included were options for consideration, including future new facilities.
With the lowest tax rate in 11 years, multiple awards for fiscal responsibility, continued academic successes, and excellence in athletics and fine arts, Klein ISD is well-positioned for any possible future Bond.
The Board of Trustees will consider the scope and timing of any potential future bond referendum to put before voters.
