Superintendent’s Spotlight: Career & Technical Education Month
It’s National Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month, and our student-centered Superintendent Dr. Jenny McGown is getting a first-hand look at what it’s like to be a CTE student in Klein ISD!
Dr. McGown spent time learning alongside the very talented Klein Forest Floral Design students as the students worked to complete bouquet orders from the community and staff in Klein ISD.
“I was so impressed by the talent in Ms. Hadley’s Floral Design Class today,” Dr. McGown said. “You could see the student’s passion and joy as they created these beautiful flower arrangements. We are so fortunate to have multiple award-winning CTE pathways for students to find their purpose here in Klein ISD!”
In Klein ISD, our students have the opportunity to choose a pathway that best aligns with their strengths and interests. From Cybersecurity and Cosmetology, to accelerated college pathways where students will leave high school with college credits and in some cases an associate’s degree, there truly is something for every student!
“I decided to join the Floral Design Pathway because I love flowers,” Advanced Floral Design student Jaquelin Mejia said. “When I graduate, I will have earned a certification in floral design and will get to work at flower shops or start my own business.”
We celebrate and thank our outstanding CTE Teachers who work tirelessly everyday to help our students grow their craft. Our students are thriving in these pathways because of the talent, dedication, and hands-on experiences our teachers provide daily through their instruction.
Happy National CTE Month to all of our outstanding CTE teachers and students in Klein ISD!
