Teacher Feature: Ashlyn Langner, Klein Oak High School

Klein Oak alumna Ms. Ashlyn Langner is a dynamic educator not to miss! This beloved Algebra I teacher and Girls Basketball coach is busy paving the way for the next generation of Klein Oak Panthers.
As a product of Klein ISD and after watching her mother serve the district for 25 years, Ashlyn knew she wanted to enter the field of Education and return home to her alma mater.
“My mother started her teaching career at Klein Forest, and then became an AP at Hildebrandt and Krimmel for many years. We have pictures of me at Klein Forest in the early childhood classes,” Langner said. “I think what motivated me to become a teacher was my passion for coaching and my love of math. I knew I liked working with kids and knew I could make a difference.”
Ashlyn Langner decided to start her teaching career in Klein ISD after experiencing wonderful memories throughout her education – particularly at Klein Oak.
“It’s very exciting to return to Klein Oak as an educator! It has been amazing working with some of the teachers I was blessed to be taught by while in high school,” Langner said. “The slogan while I was at Klein Oak was ‘It’s not four years, it’s for life’ and that has never rang so true.”
As a self-proclaimed “math nerd,” Ms. Langner knew math is where she could shine and share a love of the subject with her students.
“I majored in math in college and just love the subject,” Langner said. “I strive to share my passion for math with my students every day in the hopes that I can get my students to be just as passionate as I am. Recently, I was one of the top 10 teachers in the district for Algebra 1 QSE scores! A really awesome victory, but I absolutely could not have done it without my team.”
Although being a first-year teacher can be challenging, Ms. Langner knows she would not be able to manage without the support of her Klein Oak family.
“My experience teaching in Klein ISD so far has been wonderful. I’ve never felt more supported by my Algebra 1 family and my basketball family,” Langner said. “Coming to work everyday is exciting and something to look forward to, largely because of the people I work with.”
We are so glad to have Ashlyn Langner back in our #KleinFamily as a cherished educator! We’re grateful for all you do for our students and how you contribute to a second-to-none learning experience.
