Lisa Mackey Named District Elementary Teacher of the Year
Besides being an all-around outstanding, innovative educator, Fox Elementary’s Art Teacher Lisa Mackey can now add the title 2022 Klein ISD Elementary District Teacher of the Year to her accolades.
Mrs. Mackey’s work can be found all over Fox Elementary, from the murals on the walls to the character posters displaying the Fox Cub’s core values. Mrs. Mackey not only serves as the art teacher at Fox Elementary, but she also leads the Destination Imagination team that is on their way to Globals for the second straight year!
“I’m so proud of Mrs. Mackey for being honored as our 2022 District Elementary Teacher of the Year,” Superintendent Dr. Jenny McGown said. “She encourages her students to be creative and innovative, and you can truly tell she loves what she does. I’m so grateful to call Lisa a member of our Klein Family.”
Mrs. Mackey consistently checks in with classroom teachers to ensure she can incorporate what is being taught in the classroom into students’ art projects. Her creativity is evident in everything she does, and she always has a smile on her face.
“When I walk into Lisa’s classroom, she is always radiating positivity and the spirit of ‘we can do this together,’ ” Fox Principal Lakita Combs said. “Mrs. Mackey brings out the best in others and helps them accomplish things they once thought were impossible.”
