Nathan Bush Named District Secondary Teacher of the Year
Students in Nathan Bush’s class at Klein Forest High School already know he is an amazing teacher who deeply cares for them, and now, so does everyone else. Mr. Bush was recently named the 2022 Klein ISD Secondary District Teacher of the Year of Klein ISD.
Mr. Bush makes it a priority to know every student by name, strength, and need. When you walk into his classroom, you will see small group instruction, personalized stations, and peer-to-peer tutoring.
“Mr. Bush is an invaluable member of our Klein Family,” Superintendent Dr. Jenny McGown said. “I’m so proud that he has been honored as our 2022 Secondary District Teacher of the Year. The way he makes sure all his students are successful and know they are valued is what makes him such a remarkable teacher.
Mr. Bush also serves as a mentor and tutor for our student-athletes.
“Whenever he sees me, he calls me a ‘track star,’ ” Klein Forest student Kyaliah said. “He comes to our track meets and always tells us to keep going. He’s one of the best teachers I have ever had.”
Klein Forest Principal Lance Alexander saw something special in Mr. Bush back in the early 2000s when Mr. Bush was a hall monitor at Klein Forest.
“Mr. Bush was hired as my aide when I was a teacher here at Klein Forest,” said Alexander. “I encouraged him to finish his degree and get his teaching certification because he was always tutoring our athletes in math. He is bright and really cares about every student in our school.”
