Superintendent’s Spotlight: Award-Winning Robotics

Robotics students at Klein Cain High School are gearing up for national and state competitions and our Superintendent Dr. Jenny McGown got in on the action to celebrate the success of these very talented students.

Dr. McGown spent time learning alongside the award-winning robotics students at Klein Cain High School and learned how to control their competition robot and the intricacies of this advanced career and technical education pathway in Klein ISD.

“I am so impressed with the work ethic, commitment, and innovation of the students in the Practicum of Robotics & Engineering class here at Klein Cain High School” said Dr. McGown. “I loved seeing their creativity as they worked on their robots and demonstrated their academic grit in computer programming and coding. These students have bright futures ahead and I wish them the best of luck in their upcoming competitions.”

In Klein ISD, our students have the opportunity to choose from over a hundred pathways that best align with their strengths and interests and help them to exit high school with their purpose. From Cybersecurity and Medical Sciences, to the many accelerated college pathways ensuring students leave high school with advanced industry-level certifications, college credits and in some cases an associate’s degree, there truly is something for every student to succeed!

“Our Robotics and Engineering Practicum classes give our students a chance to be innovative and take their skills to the next level through multiple outlets in both competitive and curricular settings,” said Klein Cain Robotics Teacher Mr. Malchar. “The students in these classes also have an opportunity to earn different certifications that they can use in post- secondary education and the professional world.”

We are so proud of our students who dream big, pursue their passions, and elevate their skills!
