Klein ISD Board approves $60,000 starting teacher pay, competitive raises, loyalty incentives for returning employees
At the May 9 Board of Trustees meeting, the Klein ISD Board of Trustees approved a competitive employee compensation package, including raises and loyalty incentives for the 2022-2023 school year.
The approved compensation package includes planned pay raises for current employees, an increase in the starting teacher salary to a competitive $60,000 per year, and Klein Family loyalty payments for current employees who return to Klein ISD for the 2022-2023 school year.
“The Board is honored to show our support and appreciation for our outstanding Klein employees by approving a competitive compensation package,” Board President Ronnie K. Anderson said. “We are so grateful for their continued commitment to the students of Klein ISD.”
Returning Klein ISD teachers, librarians, nurses, and counselors will receive a pay increase of 3.7 percent over the 2021-2022 control point. In addition, all other TRS-eligible employees will receive a pay increase of 3 percent of the 2021-2022 control point in their pay grade. Hourly wages for various highly-competitive support positions are also being raised, providing market adjustments to remain competitive.
All TRS eligible full-time employees who are current Klein ISD employees as of May 31, 2022, and who will return to Klein ISD in the 2022-2023 school year, will receive $1,000 in Klein Family loyalty payments that will be paid in two $500 payments on November 5, 2022, and February 20, 2023. TRS eligible employees working less than full-time will receive two payments of $250 on the same dates.
In comments at the Board meeting, President Anderson said he is glad to see that the District’s employees, who consistently go above and beyond to ensure high-quality support and excellent care for students, will continue to be compensated well for their expertise, loyalty, and leadership.
