BREAKING: Klenk Elementary Named 1 of Nation’s 50 Best Schools

Klenk Elementary has been named a 2022 National School of Character by Character.org. This prestigious honor was bestowed upon only 50 schools nationwide. In addition, Klenk has also held the title of 2021 State School of Character

According to Character.org, schools receive this recognition because of the work they have done to “put into place a comprehensive approach that inspires their students to understand, care about, and consistently practice a set of core values that will enable them to flourish in school, in relationships, in the workplace, and as citizens.”

“I am so proud of our Klenk team! Being named National School of Character represents the collective efforts of many over a long period of time,” Klenk Elementary Principal Allie Martin said. “Our core values have truly become the fabric of our school, the driving force behind our campus culture. This distinction represents our commitment to strong character and excellent academics.”

In addition, Klenk was selected as the pioneering cohort for the Campus Leadership Program with the Holdsworth Center, which propelled them forward in their pursuit of creating a rich character initiative on their campus.

Klenk Elementary’s core values and character practices were implemented on-campus by utilizing the Legacy Team, which consisted of outstanding students, Coffee with Counselors, Core4 assemblies, and daily community circles. Off-campus, teachers and staff stayed visible in their school community — jumping rope, playing basketball, and hanging out with students and families — through the Klenk in the Community Program, which provided an opportunity to bridge the gap between school and home life.

“I genuinely believe we have the best community, and I am proud of the work we have done to achieve this recognition,” Klenk Elementary Assistant Principal Teresa De Alba said. “We could not have done this without our amazing students, staff, and families.”

Klenk staff and students alike take ownership of their P.A.W.S. core values and are proud of the work that has been done to embed this into their school culture.

“I feel extremely proud of the teachers, counselors, and office staff,” Klenk fifth-grader Jade Bradshaw said. “This achievement makes me feel proud of myself as well.”

Congratulations to Klenk Elementary for being a NATIONAL School of Character! Klein ISD is so proud of all involved in this tremendous achievement!
