30 Students Inducted into Vistas Early College High School

30 Students Inducted into Vistas Early College High School

Thirty eighth-grade students from across the District were inducted into the Vistas Early College High School (ECHS) as part of Cohort 2026.

Vistas Early College High School is a partnership between Klein ISD and Lone Star College-University Park. The program offers students an opportunity to complete a high school diploma and earn up to 60 college hours towards an associate’s degree at no cost to the students or their families.

“I look forward to my time here at Vistas Early College High School,” said inductee Katie Fowler. “It’s really awesome that we will get to graduate from high school with an associate’s degree. After I graduate, I plan to go onto college and study to be a psychologist.”

This four-year pathway allows students to gradually integrate college coursework through a traditional high school degree plan, plus dual enrollment. This model increases college readiness, provides rigorous instruction and coursework, and offers academic and social support. Each student has access to dual-credit teachers, college professors, mentors, and college advisors.

The inductees were honored during a ceremony where they met with Vistas ECHS staff and were inspired by a message from Principal Debbie Pennington.

“Look at the students to your left and your right. You are now bonded together for the next four years as you explore your passions to find your purpose through this esteemed college-preparation pathway,” said Pennington. “Four years from now, we will look back and celebrate your successes through your time at Vistas ECHS.”
