875 Seniors Graduate from Klein Oak High School
Klein Oak High School has officially graduated 875 seniors from the Class of 2022 during a ceremony at Klein Memorial Stadium, our Panthers were overjoyed to return “home” to recognize this momentous occasion.
“We are so grateful for the privilege of honoring and celebrating this wonderful class of incredible young people with families, friends, and community,” Klein ISD Superintendent Dr. Jenny McGown said. “Congratulations to every graduate for your hard work, determination, and resilience in getting to this important education milestone.”
Dr. McGown also gave special recognition to seniors who have attended Klein ISD schools for their entire academic career since Kindergarten and seniors who have committed to serving our great Nation in the United States Military post-graduation.
Student commencement speaker Nathan Otchere delivered an engaging and moving speech urging seniors to recognize and celebrate their fellow graduates, especially those presented with unique challenges during their academic journey.
“As we celebrate all our accomplishments as a class, it’s important for us to acknowledge members of our class that are less acknowledged – our peers who couldn’t,” Otchere said. “Our peers who couldn’t stay after school to attend much-needed tutoring sessions because they had younger siblings to take care of directly after school. Our peers who couldn’t study for hours because they had to work one or more jobs to help their families survive beyond paycheck to paycheck. Our peers who couldn’t participate in extracurricular activities because their home life was just too demanding. Tonight, we recognize you and celebrate you. You may have felt like the deck was stacked against you, yet tonight, we stand together, and I am honored to call you a fellow graduate.”
