Celebrating the Year – A Message from Our Superintendent Dr. McGown
The end of a school year is always bittersweet. Along with the joy of celebrating all that we’ve achieved together, there is also the sadness of saying goodbye to favorite teachers, classes, and the routines we’ve grown accustomed to throughout the school year. I think about my own kids, who are moving on from schools they love to begin their intermediate and high school years; the nostalgia that I feel watching them grow up so quickly is combined with the excitement and hope of what’s to come in these next chapters. And perhaps no group feels this mix of emotions more than our Class of 2022 graduates who are walking the stage this week with purpose into the next chapter of their lives. One chapter closes and another begins; we reflect, we give thanks, and we celebrate together.
I love recognizing the many accomplishments of our incredible students, and I want to pay tribute to all the educators who have selflessly paved the way for our students’ success this year. Education is a noble, challenging profession—in fact, it’s a calling. I have a fierce admiration for our teachers and all educators for the powerful impact they have on our students. Their dedication alongside supportive families is what makes the many opportunities that are promised to our kids possible in Klein ISD.

These opportunities and achievements are what continue to earn Klein ISD widespread recognition for excellence in education. They are made possible because of the relentlessly hardworking staff I’m privileged to stand alongside every day and the overwhelming family and community support we receive to help the students in our collective care find their purpose. To that end, I also share my gratitude with our community for your support in investing in our children’s future by approving the largest bond in Klein ISD history. Working together, we continue to make Klein ISD such a special place to call home.
Thank you for entrusting us to care for and educate your children. I look forward to us all being back together again for the start of an incredible 2022-2023 school year and expect great things ahead for our kids and Klein Family!
