School Leaders Join Inaugural Cohort of the Teacher Leadership Development Academy
Over 100 teacher leaders from across Klein ISD were selected by their principal to join the inaugural cohort of the Teacher Leadership Development Academy, hosted by the Professional Learning Team.
The Teacher Leadership Development (TLD) Academy is a one-year cohort program for Klein ISD teachers who have leadership potential or are currently in new leadership positions to receive targeted professional learning in four key areas—conflict management; skillful communication; organization and time management; and team-building and culture. These professional learning opportunities foster leadership development to maximize teachers’ impact to empower them to inspire, encourage, and develop others, ultimately leading to further student success.
These selected teachers attended two days of Professional Learning led by instructional leaders in our district.
“The energy during the academy was electric and these educators are so eager to learn,” Director of Professional Learning Monica Shallenberger said. “This first cohort of teachers will participate in one year of targeted professional learning. We can’t wait to see this group of leaders gain more insight into their leadership identity and cultivate further confidence in their ability to lead effectively.”
