Fox Elementary’s Lisa Mackey Named Finalist for Region 4 Teacher of the Year
Mrs. Lisa Mackey, art teacher at Fox Elementary, has been selected as one of five Region 4 Teacher of the Year finalists.
Region 4, which serves 87 school districts, 1.2 million students, 105,000 educators, and 1,500 campuses across seven counties, announced the selection in a Twitter post.
“Lisa Mackey continues to shine and represent Klein ISD with grace, tenacity, and unmatched creative talent,” Klein ISD Superintendent Dr. Jenny McGown said. “We are so proud of her passion, innovation, and continued hard work to make Promise to Purpose a reality for every student in her midst. Congratulations to Mrs. Mackey for this well-deserved accomplishment. Our Klein Family is rooting for her every step of the way!”
Mrs. Mackey’s regional finalist selection comes a few months after she was named the Klein ISD Elementary Teacher of the Year for 2022.
“Being selected as a Region 4 finalist is unbelievably rewarding and humbling,” Mrs. Mackey said. “I am beyond excited to be able to share my passion, leadership, positivity and teachings with others. And the culmination is being a part of a district that helps push me to strive to be the best educator I can be!”
Mrs. Mackey brings life to every hallway at Fox Elementary and happily shares her many talents with all who cross her path. She also leads the Fox Destination Imagination team, who just placed first at Globals for the second straight year.
“One thing we can always count on whenever we see Mrs. Mackey is the smile on her face that accompanies a positive attitude that radiates in the room,” Fox Elementary Principal Lakita Combs said. “Our Fox family is so thankful to have Mrs. Mackey educating our Fox cubs and cannot think of a better fit for our campus, district, AND Region 4 Teacher of the Year!”
There is no doubt that Mrs. Lisa Mackey is a force to be reckoned with, and we wish her the best of luck as she pursues the next level of her Teacher of the Year journey. Mrs. Mackey, we cannot wait to see what great things lie ahead in this competition and the coming school year!
