Klein ISD Switching to SchoolCafé for Lunch Payments

Klein ISD Switching to SchoolCafé for Lunch Payments

Klein ISD students and families will have an upgraded service for online school meal payments this year as we transition to SchoolCafé.

Families can register now for your SchoolCafé account using these step-by-step instructions in English or instructions in Spanish.

The Klein ISD Nutrition and Food Services team is working behind the scenes to verify that all student balances from the previous system, PayPams, are transferred and are available to view and manage in the new SchoolCafé.

Additionally, your SchoolCafé account gives you access to the new parent portal that allows families to manage students’ meal accounts, including:

  • Managing and depositing funds for meal purchases
  • Blocking a la carte purchases
  • Viewing student menus (coming January 2023)

Meal Benefits Reminder
Beginning the 2022-2023 school year, USDA will no longer offer waivers allowing all students to eat for free. To determine if a student qualifies for free or reduced-priced meals, families are encouraged to apply. Please see the directions for using your SchoolCafé account to complete an application.
