Welcome Back from Klein ISD Police Chief Marlon Runnels
I am Marlon Runnels, your Klein ISD Chief of Police. The new school year is upon us and I know safety is at the forefront of everyone’s mind. Providing our students with a top quality education in a safe environment is always a TOP priority!
As our students head back to school we want to take this opportunity to share how you play a big role in keeping our students safe.
First, obey ALL posted speed limits in our school zones. As an added layer of protection the Klein ISD Police Department in partnership with the Harris County Precinct 4 Constables and the Harris County Sheriff’s Department will be proactively patrolling our school zones to address issues as they arise.
While on the road, please be patient & aware of your surroundings when passing our campuses.
Traffic may be heavier during arrival and dismissal time. Remember, we have some students who walk and ride bikes to school.
When visiting any of our campuses for any reason you must check in at the front office. To ensure the safety of our students, faculty and staff you WILL be asked to provide your driver’s license or a photo ID to be scanned into our visitor management system.
We provide strategic patrols across the district daily with officers on every campus, every day in Klein ISD. I would like to take a moment to thank our amazing board of trustees for their long standing support of safety and security measures and for approving additional officers for our department.
But everyone in our Klein Family has a responsibility to #KEEPKLEINSAFE…So if you SEE something, SAY something!
If you see or hear anything suspicious you should report it to a campus administrator or Klein ISD Police officer immediately.
You can also use our KEEP KLEIN SAFE anonymous reporting button, which can be found in the top right corner of every district/campus webpage if you see anything suspicious or simply just need some support.
Thank you for doing your part to keep our Klein Family safe and let’s have a great and safe school year!
