Klenk Elementary Students, Teacher Honored at November Board Meeting

The Klein ISD Board of Trustees recognized an amazing Klenk Elementary staff member and two outstanding students at the November Board meeting for their dedication to success in the classroom.

Ms. Tammy Dukes is a third-grade teacher at Klenk Elementary and is this month’s distinguished educator. Her dedication to her classroom doesn’t go unnoticed. Klenk Elementary Principal Allie Martin reflected on the kind of teacher Ms. Dukes is and spoke highly of her.

“Ms. Dukes moves with a tremendous sense of urgency while remaining grounded in strong relationships with students, and we are so excited to celebrate her,” Principal Martin said.

Fifth-grade student Caleb lights up every room he enters with his positive attitude and funny stories. He comes to school daily and presents himself as a true leader, consistently exemplifying one of Klenk’s core values: excellence.

“Caleb is such a joy to have in my class,” Fifth-grade Math and Science teacher Ms. Cortnee Reed said. “He’s always willing to lend a helping hand and does it with a kind heart.”

Kalani is an outstanding student and peer, and it shows in everything she does. Not only does this fifth-grader ensure that she’s doing her best, but she also helps uplift those around her to do their best.

“She exhibits a ‘we, not me attitude’ because she mentors a younger student,” Klenk Elementary Reading teacher Ms. Cedra Sims said. “She is extremely goal driven, and she is the model student.”

These Klenk Cougars are truly inspirational! Congratulations, Ms. Dukes, Caleb, and Kalani—we are so proud of you.
