La’Quesha Grigsby Named Distinguished Alumna for November

At the November meeting of the Board of Trustees, Klein Forest Associate Principal for Curriculum and Instruction Ms. La’Quesha Grigsby was honored as the Distinguished Klein ISD Alumna. Ms. Grigsby was nominated by Board Trustee Mr. Doug James.
“Klein ISD has been my home since fifth grade. It has been my privilege to serve the students, staff, and community of Klein Forest High School,” Ms. Grigsby said. “Being a graduate of Klein Forest, returning to teach, and now serving as an administrator has allowed me to live out one of my favorite campus core values, ‘Be the Legacy.’”
Klein Forest High School Principal Mr. Lance Alexander felt honored to work alongside Ms. Grigsby and had much to say about her contribution to the Golden Eagles.
“Ms. Grigsby shows up daily and loves the kids with all her heart,” Mr. Alexander said. “Our kids are her kids, and there’s nothing she will not do for the whole school. She’s a blessing for Klein Forest and one-of-a-kind.”
The Distinguished Alumna started her education at Klein ISD in 1988 as a fifth-grade Kaiser Elementary Cowboy. After Kaiser, she became a Wunderlich Wildcat who was active in athletics such as volleyball, basketball, and track. Ms. Grigsby also kept busy participating in Destination Imagination, a creative, problem-solving challenge team, and shined as a National Junior Honor Society member.
Ms. Grigsby was a stellar student, graduating in three years from Klein Forest. During those three years, she continued participating in sports, playing outside hitter on the Klein Forest Volleyball team and competing in track and field events.
She was a member of the National Honor Society, the Klein Forest Step team, the African American Heritage Society, the French Club, the Good Sportsmanship League, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. The alumna was also a published author in Klein Forest’s literary magazine, Aquilae Stylus, and participated in a host of other clubs and organizations.

Ms. Grigsby credits a particular teacher who impacted her during her time at Klein Forest: her beloved ninth-grade English teacher, Mrs. Lynne Dozier. Mrs. Dozier created learning experiences that were relevant and engaging, and she advocated for students who hadn’t found their voices yet. The legendary Klein ISD teacher was passionate about things that mattered, and she loved her students without limitation. Mrs. Dozier will always be the teacher who significantly impacted Ms. Grigsby’s academic journey.
The Klein Forest alumna received her degree from the University of Houston and returned to her alma mater in 2003 to give back to the community she grew up in. During this time, she served in multiple capacities, including business teacher, CTE Business Department Chair, Assistant & Head Volleyball coach, and the International Business Academy Coordinator before serving as Associate Principal.
Ms. Grigsby gives back to the community as an Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority member. Two key initiatives for this organization are to empower families and uplift our local community.
The Distinguished Alumna credits her family for their unwavering support of her work. Her mother volunteered at the schools Ms. Grigsby has had the privilege of serving, and her son, Legend, could probably draw the Klein Forest floor plan from memory due to his being part of her work since he was one and a half years old!
We are beyond grateful to Ms. Grigsby for being a treasured alumna of Klein Forest High School and a phenomenal campus leader. Please join us in congratulating Ms. Grigsby as the November Alumna of the Month!
