19 Klein ISD Musicians Selected for TMEA All-State Music Groups

Nineteen Klein ISD students have been named to the Texas Music Educators Association All-State music group. As a Best Community for Music Education for 11 straight years, we take great pride in seeing our talented students excel in their passion for music.
These 19 students earned the honor of being named All-State musicians after competing at the Region and Area levels of competition. These All-State musicians represent the top two percent of all music students in Texas.
“Our Klein ISD student-musicians continue to make me and all of Klein ISD so proud,” Klein ISD Superintendent Dr. Jenny McGown said. “Our All-State musicians are truly a group of well-rounded, committed, and incredibly talented students who are part of the reason Klein ISD is and will always remain a community that deeply values the fine arts education provided by our outstanding educators. Our tradition of excellence in the arts continues! We are all so proud of them.”
Not only are our All-State musicians incredibly talented, but they are also brilliant. According to TMEA, All-State musicians average 1323 on their SAT while the national average is 1088 and the Texas average is 1039. The benefits of a well-rounded Klein ISD education are clear.
“To be recognized as a TMEA All-State musician is one of the highest honors a high school musician can receive,” Klein ISD Director of Fine Arts Creston Herron said. “We are extremely proud and excited to celebrate the 19 Klein ISD students that will represent our district in San Antonio! I am proud of our music students who have excelled at their craft and grown as young musicians and phenomenal community members.”
Congratulations to all these fantastic student-musicians!
