Teacher Finds Her Purpose in Klein ISD After 11 Years in Healthcare
The call to serve others was all Ms. Kimberly Demoss felt was the reason why she was placed on this Earth.
For Ms. Demoss, a 6th-grade Math teacher at Kleb Intermediate, teaching was not the first career she had in mind. After working in healthcare for 11 years, she decided to pursue her love of teaching others. She didn’t want to teach at just any school district; she wanted to teach in Klein.
“At the time, I knew about two or three teachers who worked in Klein who spoke highly of their experiences teaching here,” Ms. Demoss said. “Being able to teach these amazing students has helped me grow not only as a teacher, but as a person, too.”
During her time in healthcare, she was able to lead many trainings on new medical equipment and software. Ms. Demoss frequently had peers tell her that she would make a great teacher.
“It’s something that’s always been in the back of my heart and mind since college, so I decided to take the leap,” Ms. Demoss said.
Ever since she started working in Klein ISD, Ms. Demoss has constantly found ways to add build relationships with her students and families.
“Building relationships with my students, supporting their growth and trying to show that math can be fun got me hooked right away,” Ms. Demoss said. “I honestly feel like I’ve found my calling and never questioned the move,” Ms. Demoss said.
Outside of numbers and equations, Ms. Demoss is always willing to help her students apply problem-solving skills to their lives, helping them be resilient with everything life throws at them!
