Klein High School Principal Named District Secondary Principal of the Year

Klein High Principal Brandon Baker has been named Klein ISD’s 2023 Secondary Principal of the Year.
Mr. Baker is a forever learner who leads his campus with integrity, determination, and gratitude. He holds high standards for his students, encourages innovative problem-solving, and is always willing to share new ideas to make things better, not just for one campus but the entire district.
“Brandon is a servant-leader who is constantly thinking of how to help those in his care achieve great success,” Klein ISD Superintendent Dr. Jenny McGown said. “He builds strong, positive relationships with his students, staff, and community, and his work ethic, positive attitude, and dedication to the students, staff, and community at Klein High School is evident in every decision he makes. I am so proud of this phenomenal principal and grateful for his endless commitment to our Bearkats and Klein Family. Congratulations to Mr. Baker and all of Klein High School on this honor!”
After determining in college he might not have what it takes to make it in the NBA, Mr. Baker followed his passion for education, and the rest is history. He has served as a special education teacher and basketball coach at both Klein Forest and Klein Oak before becoming an assistant principal, an associate principal, and then principal at Klein High School.
“I’m very honored and humbled by the opportunity to be the principal at Klein High School,” Mr. Baker said. “This award is not an award of ‘me’ but an award of ‘we.’ I want to thank the parents who entrust us with their kids at Klein High, the teachers who bring everything they have daily, and our support staff. It takes every single person to get the job done. I am thankful for the opportunity to be at this school and for this recognition.”
Mr. Baker is an outside-of-the-box leader who is unafraid to try new approaches to leadership and instruction to obtain better outcomes and is a principal others want to learn from in Klein ISD. We are so grateful for his leadership.
Please join Klein ISD in congratulating Brandon Baker as our 2023 Secondary Principal of the Year!
