Klein ISD Students Shine at 2023 Regional Scholastic Art Awards
KLEIN, Texas – Fifty-seven Klein ISD students have been recognized as Regional Scholastic Art Award Winners for 2023. Klein ISD has 21 Gold Key Winners from 6 schools and 36 Silver Key Winners from 9 schools.
The Scholastic Art Awards are among the most prestigious art awards in the Nation. Klein ISD student-artists receive recognition from Scholastic Art every year, continuing our legacy of excellence in the arts.
“It is a wonderful feeling when you approach the gallery with a portfolio full of art! I look forward to hanging the 36 high school and 21 Intermediate Gold and Silver Key award-winning pieces at the gallery this year,” Fine Arts Assistant Director Leah McWhorter said. “Seeing our teachers’ hard work and students’ talent hanging on a gallery wall together is incredible.”
The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, founded in 1923, is the nation’s longest-running and most prestigious recognition program for creative secondary students. This program consists of Regional and National Level recognition. Competing in the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards allows students to receive scholarships and cash prizes for their creative entries.
