Klein Oak Boys Hoops Makes School History with Playoff Run
KLEIN, Texas – For the first time in school history, the Klein Oak Boys Basketball team has advanced to the Regional Semi-Finals.
This phenomenal Panther team has been crowned the 2022-2023 Boys Basketball District Champs, and they don’t plan on slowing down. These talented student-athletes were sent off with cheers and hugs from their classmates and families as they geared up to head to Lufkin, TX, to meet their competitors.
“Since I got here in June, I can see the selflessness in these guys—they just put their heads down and work hard. They don’t complain about anything and are always on time,” Klein Oak Head Coach Joshua Ervin said. “They’re the hardest working bunch I’ve seen, and honestly, they’re the greatest team I’ve ever been around.”
The team has had an incredible basketball season and will face off against Mansfield ISD’s Legacy High School for a chance to advance to the Regional Finals.
“This means the world to me. We’ve been a family during this whole journey. We’ve been putting in work, striving, grinding, and practicing together,” Klein Oak senior TJ Robinson said. “Without these guys, an opportunity like this doesn’t happen, and I’m so blessed to be a part of this group.”
