Mahaffey Students, Teacher Honored at Board Meeting
The Klein ISD Board of Trustees recognized an outstanding Mahaffey Elementary staff member and two exceptional students at the March Board meeting for their dedication to success in the classroom.
Kasi Jameson is a phenomenal early childhood teacher at Mahaffey Elementary who fosters genuine relationships with students and peers. Ms. Jameson shines in the classroom and goes the extra mile every year to plan, host, and run the school’s Special Olympics for students in our EC and ACCESS programs with community partners. Her hard work doesn’t go unnoticed as she receives high remarks from those around her.
“She is an incredibly inspiring and encouraging mentor teacher on our campus,” Mahaffey Elementary Principal Charla Wilson said. “ She has helped develop and empower other staff members through her optimism, innovation, and humility.”
Isabella is an excellent student and role model. She is a true servant-leader who goes out of her way to help those around her. Outside of school, Isabella often sets up with her classmates to work together as peer mentors. Isabella’s tenacity is an admirable trait that her teachers see in action daily.
“Isabella faces challenges with a growth mindset and a positive attitude,” Mahaffey Elementary teacher Ms. Elsy Santana said. “She is an amazing student in the classroom, and I am honored to be her teacher.”
Gustavo is a fifth-grade student who is impactful in the classroom and his community. He consistently shows academic excellence and likes to remain active outside of school, playing basketball in his spare time. Gustavo’s dedication to success gives his parents, teachers, and school community great pride.
“Gustavo consistently models a positive attitude, embraces challenges, and seeks ways to impact our community,” Mahaffey Elementary teacher Ms. Maurine Whitney said. “I am so proud of this honor that he is receiving.”
Ms. Jameson, Isabella, and Gustavo, thank you for your commitment to excellence! Your Klein Family is so proud of you.
