Klein Cain Student Receives Prestigious $500 Art Award

Klein Cain junior Alicia Clines is making a name for herself.

With over 7,700 art pieces submitted to the Harris County Department of Education (HCDE), Alicia came out on top with her digital art-Blazing Novice. As a result, she was chosen to be the HCDE Trustee’s Incentive Award recipient.

This recognition comes along with an opportunity to sell her piece to the Harris County Department of Education for $500.

Alicia’s achievement is something to be proud of! Her teacher, Ms. Kaylee Hill, is overjoyed for her student and believes all recognition is more than deserved.

“Alicia is such an amazing student who always gives 100% on each of her pieces,” Ms. Hill said. “I love seeing her fantastic mix of photography and digital art. I am so happy to see her get recognized!”

Alicia will be celebrated by the Harris County Department of Education on the evening of the Regional Scholastic Art & Writing Celebration for Klein ISD in May 2023. Shortly after, HCDE will take possession of the piece and display it in the Trustee’s Scholastic Art Gallery in the building’s foyer.

Congratulations to Alicia on this achievement! Your #KleinFamily is exceptionally proud of all your hard work.
