Celebrating our Deep Roots at the 51st Annual Germanfest

It was a family reunion at Wunderlich Farm for the 51st Annual Germanfest!
The majority of the first families to settle in the Klein area, some from as far back as 175 years ago, were of German descent—a fact that is reflected by the homage paid to these families through many of our schools’ names.
Special performances from the Klein Forest Treble Choir and Kuehnle Elementary Student Choir wowed audiences and warmed hearts. Festivities continued throughout the day as guests could visit founding families’ homes, play German games, and shop till they dropped at local vendor booths.
“With the move of Germanfest out to the grounds of the Klein, TX Museum/Wunderlich Farm, it allowed for an expansion of activities, entertainment, and more ways for our founding families to mingle with the community,” Klein, TX Historical Foundation Director Steve Baird said. “We saw more of the younger generation coming out with their kids to partake in the activities and celebration of Germanfest than we have in past years. What better way to showcase the history of our founding families than at the museum that is dedicated to these same families.”
